Abu Dhabi will be the centre of celebrations for International Jazz Day 2025, which will take place on April 30 and will cover more than 190 countries around the world. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The event is organised by UNESCO with the support of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism. The festive programme includes concerts, as well as educational and cultural initiatives aimed at promoting jazz as an art of free expression.

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said that hosting the event in Abu Dhabi will confirm its status as a music city in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network.

The key event will be a global concert that will be broadcast around the world. It will feature renowned musicians from the UAE, China, Morocco, India, and other countries. Another feature of the festival is the combination of jazz music with traditional Arabic instruments: oud, kanun, and nai.
